Check Point offers important security update for Endpoint Security Management Server E80.x that prevents attack vector on the web server.

Customers are strongly advised to apply the update on top of their current Endpoint Security Management Server:

  • Show / Hide instructions for Endpoint Security Management Server running on Gaia / SecurePlatform OS

    1. Download this shell script (E80_X_Security_Update_Gaia_SecurePlatform_sk98666.tar) to your computer.

    2. Transfer the shell script to the Endpoint Security Management Server (into some directory, e.g., /some_path_to_script/).

    3. Connect to command line on the Endpoint Security Management Server.

    4. Log in to Expert mode.

    5. Navigate to the folder where you put the shell script:

      [Expert@HostName]# cd /some_path_to_script/

    6. Extract the shell script:

      [Expert@HostName]# tar xvf E80_X_Security_Update_Gaia_SecurePlatform_sk98666.tar

    7. Assign the execute permissions to the shell script:

      [Expert@HostName]# chmod +x E80_X_Security_Update_Gaia_SecurePlatform_sk98666.sh

    8. Run the shell script:

      [Expert@HostName]# ./E80_X_Security_Update_Gaia_SecurePlatform_sk98666.sh

    9. Restart Check Point services:

      [Expert@HostName]# cpstop
      [Expert@HostName]# cpstart


  • Show / Hide instructions for Endpoint Security Management Server running on Windows OS

    1. Download this shell script (E80_X_Security_Update_Win_sk98666.zip) to your computer.

    2. Transfer the shell script to the Endpoint Security Management Server (into some directory, e.g., C:\some_path_to_script).

    3. Extract the shell script from ZIP archive (use either Windows built-in feature, or any archive program, like WinZIP, WinRAR, etc.).

    4. Open the elevated Command Prompt on the Endpoint Security Management Server:

      Start - Programs - Accessories - right-click on 'Command Prompt' icon - select 'Run as administrator'

    5. Navigate to the folder where you put the extracted shell script:

      C:\> cd C:\some_path_to_script

    6. Run the shell script:

      C:\some_path_to_script> E80_X_Security_Update_Win_sk98666.bat

    7. Restart Check Point services:

      C:\some_path_to_script> cpstop
      C:\some_path_to_script> cpstart
