Mobile Access does not work after upgrade from R76 or R77 to R77.10
Symptoms
  • Mobile Access does not work after upgrading from R76 to R77.10 using CLI and from R77 to R77.10 using Gaia Software Updates.

  • Outputs of 'cpwd_admin list' command and 'ps -C cvpnd' command show that the CVPND process is not running.

  • $CVPNDIR/log/cvpnd.elg log file shows this error:

    Undefined exception - CVPND aborting

Solution

If you encounter this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Connect to command line on Security Gateway (over SSH, or console).

  2. Login to Expert mode.

  3. Stop the CVPN service:

    [Expert@HostName]# cvpnstop

  4. Backup the current $CVPNDIR/var/db/UserSettings.sql file:

    [Expert@HostName]# cp  $CVPNDIR/var/db/UserSettings.sql  $CVPNDIR/var/db/UserSettings.sql_ORIGINAL

  5. Delete the current $CVPNDIR/var/db/UserSettings.sql file:

    [Expert@HostName]# rm $CVPNDIR/var/db/UserSettings.sql

    Notes:
    • Deleting this file will cause the CVPND daemon to create a new clean $CVPNDIR/var/db/UserSettings.sql file.
    • After deleting this file, users will lose their bookmarks, as well as SSO credentials.


  6. Start the CVPN service:

    [Expert@HostName]# cvpnstart
