Symptoms

PIM multicast traffic does not pass correctly through Security Gateway on SecurePlatform Pro.
Output of 'cat /proc/net/ip_mr_vif' command does not show the interface(s) expected to pass the traffic.
Output of 'cat /proc/net/ip_mr_cache' command doesn not show the interface(s) expected to pass the traffic.

Cause

The ip multicast ttl-threshold value is set to "255".

This command specifies the minimum Time-to-Live +1 that a multicast data packet can have and still be forwarded over the associated interface.

A value of "0" indicates that all multicast data packets should be forwarded over the associated interface(s).

A value of "255" indicates that no multicast data packets will be forwarded over the associated interface(s).
