RouteD daemon constantly restarts after shutting down an interface on one of the ClusterXL members and rebooting both ClusterXL members Technical Level
Symptoms
  • RouteD daemon constantly restarts after shutting down an interface on one of the ClusterXL members and rebooting both ClusterXL members:

    1. Configure ClusterXL with OSPF.
    2. Shut down an interface on one of the members.
    3. Reboot both members.
    4. After reboot, RouteD daemon constantly restarts (output of 'ps -aux | grep -v grep | grep routed' command shows that PID of 'routed -i' is changing).
    5. Output of 'cphaprob state' command on the member with all active interfaces shows that a member is in 'Down' state.
    6. Output of 'cphaprob list' command on the member with all active interfaces shows that pnote 'routed' reports its status as 'problem'.
    7. As a result, a member with a shut down interface will process the traffic.
    8. This issue with RouteD daemon constantly restarting can occur on either one of the members.

  • '/var/log/messages' file shows the following for restarted RouteD:
