How to uninstall R75.47 from Windows OS
Solution

Follow these steps to uninstall R75.47 from Windows machine:

Important Note: Do not try to uninstall the "Check Point R75.47" from 'Add or Remove Programs'.

  1. Log in to Windows with Administrator credentials.

  2. Download this script to Windows machine.

  3. Open an elevated Windows Command Prompt (as Administrator):

    • Windows 2003/2008:
      Start menu - Programs - Accessories - right-click on Command Prompt - select 'Run as administrator'

    • On Windows 7:
      Start menu - in the search field type cmd - right-click on cmd.exe - select 'Run as administrator'


  4. Go to the location of the downloaded script:

    C:\> cd "Path_to_Script"

  5. Run the script from the Windows Command Prompt:

    Important Note: It is necessary to run the script in Windows Command Prompt in order to see all the messages when the script runs.

    C:\> R75_47_uninst_prerequisite.bat

    Read the messages on the screen.

  6. If the script fails, then Contact Check Point Support to get an assistance.

    Important Note: Do not try to uninstall any of these packages (doing so can cause the Management Server to become unstable):
    • Check Point R75.47
    • Security Gateway Power/UTM R75.47_FOXX_HF_HA47_017
    • SFW R75 Plug-in R75.40_FOXX_HF_HA47_005


  7. Wait until the script completes successfully.
    Then uninstall the following hotfixes from Windows Control Panel 'Add or Remove Programs'
    • Security Gateway Power/UTM R75.47_FOXX_HF_HA47_017
    • SFW R75 Plug-in R75.40_FOXX_HF_HA47_005


  8. Uninstall the Check Point R75.47:

    1. Go to the R75.47 uninstall folder:

      • On Windows 32-bit:
        Go to C:\Program Files\CheckPoint\CPUninstall\R75.47

      • On Windows 64-bit:
        Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\CPUninstall\R75.47


    2. Run the uninstall script:

      Right-click on the Uninstall.bat - select 'Run as administrator'.


  9. Reboot the machine.
