R75.47 Hotfix appears in 'Add or Remove Programs' after uninstalling R75.47 on Windows OS
Symptoms
  • "Security Gateway Power/UTM R75.47_FOXX_HF_HA47_017" hotfix appears in 'Add or Remove Programs' after uninstalling R75.47 on Windows OS.
Solution

Follow these steps on the problematic Windows machine:

Important Note: Do not try to uninstall the "Security Gateway Power/UTM R75.47_FOXX_HF_HA47_017" hotfix from 'Add or Remove Programs'.

  1. Log in to Windows with Administrator credentials.

  2. Download this script to Windows machine.

  3. Open an elevated Windows Command Prompt (as Administrator):

    • Windows 2003/2008:
      Start menu - Programs - Accessories - right-click on Command Prompt - select 'Run as administrator'

    • On Windows 7:
    • Start menu - in the search field type cmd - right-click on cmd.exe - select 'Run as administrator'


  4. Go to the location of the downloaded script:

    C:\> cd "Path_to_Script"

  5. Run the script:

    Important Note: It is necessary to run the script in Windows Command Prompt in order to see all the messages when the script runs.

    C:\> R75_47_post_uninst_update.bat

    Read the messages on the screen.

  6. If the script fails, then Contact Check Point Support to get an assistance.

    Important Note: Do not try to uninstall the "Security Gateway Power/UTM R75.47_FOXX_HF_HA47_017" hotfix from 'Add or Remove Programs'. Doing so can cause the Management Server to become unstable.

  7. When the script completes successfully, then uninstall the "Security Gateway Power/UTM R75.47_FOXX_HF_HA47_017" hotfix from 'Add or Remove Programs'.

  8. Reboot the machine.
