Note able to change Date format in SmartEvent timeline Technical Level
Symptoms
  • In SmartEvent timeline, date format appears as DD/MM/YY and cannot be changed. The timeline should be displayed per user's time zone selection.
Solution

Follow these steps on the computer, on which the SmartConsole is installed:

  1. Close SmartEvent application.

  2. Go to the installation folder of SmartConsole R76:

    • Windows 32-bit:
      C:\Program Files\CheckPoint\SmartConsole\R76\PROGRAM\

    • Windows 64-bit:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\SmartConsole\R76\PROGRAM\


  3. Backup the current TimelineControl.dll file in the SmartConsole folder (for example, rename it to TimelineControl_ORIGINAL.dll ).

  4. Copy this improved TimelineControl.dll file to the the SmartConsole folder.

    Note: This improved file will make the date format in SmartEvent timeline to be taken from the Windows OS settings.

  5. Open SmartEvent application.
