Connection Capacity supported on the 21000 appliances with the Security Acceleration Module (SAM-108) Technical Level
Solution

To achieve maximal number of concurrent connections in an appliance with SAM-108, both the SAM and the Host memory must be upgraded.

The SAM-108 can now be purchased with either 12GB, 24GB or 48GB RAM. Also upgrade kits to install 24GB or 48GB RAM on SAM-108 are available.

Important notes:

  • To use 24GB RAM on SAM-108, the appliance must be running R75.46 or later, R76 or later release.
  • To use 48GB RAM on SAM-108, the appliance must be running R77.20 or later release.

This table shows the connection capacities in the appliance alone, and in the appliance with SAM-108:

* Small decrease in connection capacity compared to upgraded-Host-Memory without SAM, is due to a small amount of extra memory overhead required in the host memory to support the SAM.
