Login to file share with ","character in the password not possible Technical Level
  • When using passwords with "," for Active Directory users (for example: 123,test), the login to the Mobile Access portal is fine, but when trying to open a file share, the website reloads and displays the login form again, with no error display.
  • cvpnd debug:
    MM] MountInfo::InvokeAllCb stat=3 log-credential errorCPLOG_BIN_OBJ] CBinObjCommon::PackLogData: Field number:5, Data offset:20, Type:eFtCstring, Value:Request failed[PORTAL] [CVPN_INFO] Cvpn::TryFileCredentialsTask::obtainDone: TFC_CREDENTIALS_ERROR
  • Wireshark on file share server:SMB 105 Session Setup AndX Response, Error: STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE

Password that contains the delimiter character (i.e. a comma ',') will fail to be parsed correctly on the command line.

However, the same password defined in the PASSWD environment variable, or via a credentials file, or entered at the password prompt, will be read correctly.
