Symptoms
  • Applications and/or URL Filtering Categories are not blocked when Security Gateway is configured as HTTP Proxy with a single interface.
Cause

Applications and/or URL Filtering Categories are not identified, therefore are not blocked.


Solution

When Security Gateway is configured as HTTP Proxy with a single interface, define the relevant rule in 'Application & URL Filtering' policy as follows:

Connect with SmartDashboard - go to 'Application & URL Filtering' tab - go to 'Policy'

Source - 'Any'

Destination - 'Any'

 

To set 'Any' instead of 'Internet' use either of the methods:

  • right mouse click on 'Internet' and choose 'Remove' in the context menu
  • left mouse click on 'Internet' and press 'Delete' key on keyboard
