SmartView Tracker shows incorrect logs after upgrade
Symptoms
  • After upgrade to R75.x, symptoms of this issue include, but are not limited to:

    • Wrong interface name is shown in logs
    • Source / Destination / Origin fields show wrong information
    • NAT is being logged as performed, while it is not
    • Identity Awareness shows irrelevant IP addresses
    • Services are shown with the wrong port
Cause

Duplication of Log Unification IDs (LUUID) in the log file - the same LUUID appears in logs sent from different Gateways.

The LUUID is combined from a few inputs. One of these inputs is the local Gateway IP address, which is calculated on the Gateway during the policy download.

There were cases where two different gateways would generate the same exact LUUID.
