MAC address on Warp links not unique
Symptoms
  • Following messages are reported in /var/log/messages and on the console:

FW-1: fwha_if_unique: The ether address [(MAC address)] on IF [Warp Interface] is the same on some machines and different on others

    For example:

FW-1: fwha_if_unique: The ether address (00-12-c1-9e-80-00) on IF wrp512 is the same on some machines and different on others

Messages are repeated frequently for every Warp interface having a non unique MAC address
Cause

The MAC address of a Warp interface is calculated using a value in the registry ($CPDIR/registry/HKLM_registry.data).

The registry key is called VSX_MAC_ID, and is randomly calculated once for the VSX gateway.

It is possible that that cluster members have calculated the same value for VSX_MAC_ID (chance is 1 out of 512). This will cause the same MAC addresses to be used for the Warp interfaces.
