Anti-Virus updates issue with Endpoint Security Server
Symptoms
  • Endpoint Security Server stops receiving Anti-Virus updates from Kaspersky as of 16/dec/2009 and no error message is displayed.
  • Clients will continue to work and when they are in offline mode they will continue to receive Anti-Virus updates.
Cause
The Kaspersky Anti-Virus license that was shipped with Endpoint Security Server expires on December 16, 2009.
Solution
To replace the Anti-Virus update key on Check Point Endpoint Security Server for Windows:

  1. Download the Anti-Virus Update Key zip file.

  2. Extract the key file (07538668.key) included in the windows_av_key.zip file of the Anti-Virus Update Key zip file into the following folder:

    [Your Install Directory]\engine\webapps\ROOT\bin\updater\keepup2date

    Note: The default is C:\Program Files\EndpointSecurityServer\engine\webapps\ROOT\bin\updater\keepup2date

  3. Reboot the Endpoint Security Server. After the reboot, the clients will start the update and become compliant again.

To replace the Anti-Virus update key on Check Point Endpoint Security Server for Linux/SPLAT:

  1. Download the Anti-Virus Update Key zip file.

  2. Extract the key file (0760009C.key) included in the linux_av_key.zip of the Anti-Virus Update Key zip file into the following folder:

    [Your Install Directory]/engine/webapps/ROOT/bin/updater/keepup2date

    Note: The default is /opt/CPIntegrity/engine/webapps/ROOT/bin/updater/keepup2date

  3. In this same directory, delete the file application.dat:

    rm application.dat

  4. Change the owner and group for the new key file:

    chown integrity:integrity 0760009C.key

  5. Set the proper permissions for the new key file:

    chmod 775 0760009C.key

  6. Reboot the Endpoint Security Server. After the reboot, the clients will start the update and become compliant again.
This solution is about products that are no longer supported and it will not be updated
