Installing HFA on Windows OS causing the errors after 'cprestart'
  • Installing HFA on Windows OS causing the following errors after cprestart:

    • cpprod_util.exe - Entry Point Not Found. Procedure entry point FwIsFullHA could not be located in the dynamic link library cpprod50.dll

    • The procedure entry point fwha_get_member_if_by_cluster_if could not be located in the dynamic link library cpfwsys.dll
Not all Check Point processes were stopped during the HFA installation and as a result one or more of the dll files was locked and not upgraded.

To resolve the problem, perform the following:

  1. Uninstall the HFA using the uninstall script as listed in HFA Release Notes and reboot the machine.

  2. Run the cpstop command.

  3. Go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services - and manually stop all Check Point services that are still running.
For SmartCenter server, verify that the SNMP service is stopped.

  4. Open the Task Manager window and and manually stop all fwm.exe processes.
For cluster configuration verify that the cphamcset.exe process is stopped.

  5. Install the HFA.

  6. Reboot the machine.
