What does parameter "om_extended_dhcp_params" do? Technical Level
Solution

The parameter "om_extended_dhcp_params" enables / disabled the four DHCP Options for SecureClient / Endpoint Security VPN clients (NGX and above) listed below.

When this parameter is enabled, the Security Gateway will send the corresponding data to the DHCP Server.

For example, SecureClient / Endpoint Security VPN clients could be accessible via hostname, as well as via IP address.

Option Name Meaning
12 Hostname Hostname string of the DHCP client computer (e.g., "my_pc"). Run the 'hostname' command.
81 Client FQDN Fully Qualified Domain Name of the DHCP client computer (e.g., "my_pc.company.com")
60 Class Id Vendor Class Identifier. This option is used by DHCP Clients and DHCP Servers to exchange vendor-specific information. The definition of this information is vendor specific (e.g. for Windows 2000: "MSFT 5.0").
Can be set manually by the user, using the command "ipconfig /setclassid adapter [classid]".
77 User Class User Class Information. This option is used by a DHCP client to optionally identify the type or category of user or applications it represents. A DHCP server uses the User Class option to choose the address pool it allocates an address from and/or to select any other configuration option.
