How to start clustering mechanism in debug mode? Technical Level
Solution

To start the clustering mechanism under debug:

  1. Stop the clustering mechanism:

    [Expert@HostName]# cphastop

  2. Start the clustering mechanism under debug:

    • R77.20 and above:

      [Expert@HostName]# cphastart -d
    • R77.10 and lower:

      [Expert@HostName]# cphastart -d 1>> /var/log/cpha_debug.txt 2>> /var/log/cpha_debug.txt


  3. Provide the relevant log file to Check Point Support:

    • R77.20 and above:

      $FWDIR/log/cphastart.elg
    • R77.10 and lower:

      /var/log/cpha_debug.txt

Note: In some cases, the 'cphamcset' daemon was not able to start properly. Those cases were resolved by disabling and re-enabling the cluster membership via the 'cpconfig' menu.
