You can see all the backup schemes in the /var/CPbackup/schemes
directory on the SecurePlatform or Gaia machine.
The following schemes are listed:
To include files in the SecurePlatform or Gaia Backup utility:
- Edit one of the desired schemes (e.g.,
fw1.cpbak
) in Vi editor.
- Search for the line <INCLUDE_FILES>.
- Add the desired files. Please note that the path must be specified between the tags <INCLUDE_FILES> and </INCLUDE_FILES>.
To exclude files in the SecurePlatform or Gaia Backup utility:
- Edit one of the desired schemes (e.g.,
fw1.cpbak
) in Vi editor.
- Search for the line <EXCLUDE_FILES>.
- Specify the files that you do not want to backup. Please note that the path must be specified between the tags <EXCLUDE_FILES> and </EXCLUDE_FILES>.
Note: You can use "*" to include all files in a specific directory, for example, /var/opt/CPsuite-R65/fw1/conf/*.
Important: Starting R77.20, the Snapshot feature contains all the Check Point suite.
Unlike a backup, which is a selective backup of specific files, the snapshot is a full partition snapshot + some files which reside on a secondary partition. The customer gets a full image, where he can revert to any state of the server.
