  • Software Blades fail to update with error message: "An internal error has occurred while accessing the database"

Cause

Update process for the Software Blades fails because the appliance is unable to reach the Check Point update services or to resolve the updates' URLs.


Solution

This issue is relevant to locally managed Quantum Spark appliances only.

Change the primary DNS server to 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS):

  1. In the WebUI, go to Device > DNS > IPv4 DNS Servers > Configure DNS Servers.
  2. In the field for First DNS Server, enter 8.8.8.8.
  3. Click Apply.
