Snmpwalk command reports incorrect OSPF-MIB information for VSX Technical Level
Symptoms
  • snmpwalk request for information from OSPF-MIB::ospfNbrState fails to gather any information:
    [Expert@hostname:0]# snmpwalk -v3 -u test -l authPriv -a MD5 -A vpn12345 -x AES -X vpn12345 -n ctxname_vsid1 172.25.79.82 OSPF-MIB::ospfNbrState
    OSPF-MIB::ospfNbrState = No Such Instance currently exists at this OID

  • snmpwalk to localhost with context other than vs0 specified returns the results from VS0 instead:
    clish:0> show ospf neighbors
    ---------------------------- OSPF Instance default -----------------------------

    Neighbor state flag: G - graceful restart
    Neighbor ID Pri State Dead Address Interface Errors
    41.X.X.4 1 FULL/DR 33 172.25.106.1 172.25.106.28 8
    41.X.X.2 1 FULL/BDR 31 172.25.106.27 172.25.106.28 0

    clish:0> set virtual-system 1
    Context is set to vsid 1
