Symptoms
  • API service does not start automatically after Multi-Domain Server reboot or restart, although automatic start is enabled, for example:

    # mdsconfig
    Configuring Automatic Start of Multi-Domain Server...
    =====================================================
    Automatic start of Multi-Domain Server is enabled.

  • API automatic start is enabled:

    # api status

    API Settings:
    ---------------------
    Accessibility: Require all granted
    Automatic Start: Enabled

  • API remains stopped even after CPM starts

    Processes:

    Name State PID More Information
    -------------------------------------------------
    API Stopped
    CPM Started 13406 Check Point Security Management Server is running and ready

  • API may be started manually, for example:

    # api start
    2020-Jul-21 10:24:04 - Starting API...
    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
    2020-Jul-21 10:27:18 - API started successfully.
