Symptoms
  • Cannot delete a VS object since it is referenced by an automatically generated exception rule.

  • The $FWDR/log/cpm.elg file shows:
    DATE TIME,PID ERROR coresvc.internal.ObjectCrudSvcImpl [qtp-1826842053-146]: ObjectDeletionException with objId = b6e69136-ccd2-4220-981f-3ecd079e3c84, objName = VS_NAME, reason = it is used by the following object(s): Anti-Bot/Anti-Virus/Threat-Emulation blades exception rule objid:[xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx] (field:installOnTargets)
Cause
The VS object is still referenced by a specific rule link that must be deleted prior to attempting to delete the VS.
