Symptoms
  • Errors for IPS blade during policy installation.:
    "Error: Update failed. Contract entitlement check failed. Could not reach "updates.checkpoint.com". Check DNS and Proxy configuration on the gateway.  

    Error: Update failed. Contract entitlement check failed. Gateway can not access internet ("https://updates.checkpoint.com/WebService/services/DownloadMetaDataService"). Check connectivity and proxy settings.

  • SmartConsole and Security Gateway machines cannot reach the update site, but Security Management is able to download updates and manually install the policy.
