Symptoms
  • "An internal server fault has occurred. Please contact your administrator for help" when launching SmartEndpoint console.
  • SmartEndpoint console crashes when loading to 80%.
  • EPM process is terminated.
  • The following error appears in /opt/CPuepm-R80.20/engine/output.log:
    [2020-01-28 11:50:32,322] ERROR - GetConfigurationFileURI failed creating activemq.xml from template: /opt/CPuepm-R80.20/engine/conf/activemq.xml (Permission denied)
    [2020-01-28 11:50:32,322] ERROR - Failed to initialize ActiveMQ broker service
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: /opt/CPuepm-R80.20/engine/conf/activemq.xml (Permission denied)
  • Endpoint clients are disconnected from the Endpoint Security Server.

Cause
Incorrect permissions are applied to the $UEPMDIR/engine/conf folder.
