SandBlast Agent support on Windows 7 Technical Level

The specific end of support day for Windows 7 will be January 14, 2020.

Microsoft statement is as follows:

Microsoft made a commitment to provide 10 years of product support for Windows 7 when it was released on October 22, 2009. When this 10-year period ends, Microsoft will discontinue Windows 7 support. The specific end of support day for Windows 7 will be January 14, 2020. After that, technical assistance and software updates from Windows Update that help protect your PC will no longer be available for the product.

After January 14, 2020, if your PC is running Windows 7, it will no longer receive security updates from Microsoft. Therefore, it is important that you upgrade to a modern operating system such as Windows 10, which can provide the latest security updates to help keep you and your data safer. In addition, Microsoft customer service will no longer be available to provide Windows 7 technical support.

Check Point will continue to give support for SandBlast Agent with the following reservations:

  • If an issue will be mapped to a problem in Windows 7 OS, or any other 3rd party component, or will be blocked due to it, Check Point can only support up to their willingness to fix the issue.
  • In the future, some of the features may be developed for Windows 10 only.
  • If at a certain point, Check Point will decide to stop our SandBlast Agent support for Windows 7, the last SandBlast Agent version will be supported for at least a year.
