Automatic reactions are not sent to the Mail server
Symptoms
  • Email alerts are configured on the SmartEvent server, but emails do not arrive.

  • The cpsemd.elg shows:

    [CPSEMD PID]@Host[DATE TIME] socket error
    [CPSEMD PID]@Host[DATE TIME] SMTP server error code - 451
    [CPSEMD PID]@Host[DATE TIME] SMTP server error message -
    [CPSEMD PID]@Host[DATE TIME] CAutoReact::_DoOnAutoReactionFinishExecution: Status: fail (2), number of current jobs=(0)
    [CPSEMD PID]@Host[DATE TIME] SMTP server error code - 451
    [CPSEMD PID]@Host[DATE TIME] SMTP server error message - 5.7.3 Must issue a STARTTLS command first
Cause

Mail is being blocked by the 3rd party mail server that require TLS package as a first one.


Solution

This is an expected behavior.
Check Point does not support sending of the mails to mail server using TLS. 

This solution has been verified for the specific scenario, described by the combination of Product, Version and Symptoms. It may not work in other scenarios.
