Legacy SmartDashboard freezes when trying to add a network object to the source or destination columns in the HTTPS Inspection policy
Symptoms
  • When the user tries to add a network object to the source or destination columns of the HTTPS Inspection policy, legacy SmartDashboard freezes for several minutes. This happens only in environments with a large number of network objects.
Cause

The picker is not using a paged query, and is attempting to fetch all the network objects at once. On environments with a large number of network objects, this action takes some time, and the client is blocked for the duration of the fetch. 


Solution

Contact Check Point Support to get a Hotfix for this issue.
A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.
For faster resolution and verification please collect CPinfo files from the Security Management and Security Gateways involved in the case.

As a workaround:

For new network objects, first create the object in the legacy SmartDashboard. 

  1. Search for the object in the object list that is located below the HTTPS Inspection policy.
  2. Drag the object to the relevant rule and column.
