  • The /var/log/messages file is corrupted:
    #cat messages 
    - Input/output error
  • cpstop/cpstart or reboot does not fix the problem and there is enough space available under /var/log and /root partitions.
  • System fails to write an information to /var/log/messages
  • Newly created messages file shows that the RAID monitoring SNMP trap was enabled and disabled afterwards.
