BGP over VTI tunnels are not "established" after upgrade to R80.10
Symptoms
  • BGP over VTI tunnels are not "established" after upgrade to R80.10.
  • This configuration was working in R77.30.
  • /var/log/routed.log shows:
    bgp_peer_connected(3323): Lookup failed on interface address for peer
    
                    
                
  • routed_messages shows:
    bgp_listen_accept(4707): Lookup failed on remote interface address for peer
    
                    
            
Cause

BGP peers are unable to Establish due to being unable to find an interface address from the local socket address.


Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

Check Point recommends to always upgrade to the most recent version (Security Gateway)

If you do not wish to upgrade, Contact Check Point Support to get a Hotfix for this issue.
A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.
For faster resolution and verification please collect CPinfo files from the Security Management and Security Gateways involved in the case.
