Gaia OS sets the timezone to "UTC" when the zone is entered with a space character in the "sysconfig" menu
Symptoms

  • The timezone on Gaia OS is set to "UTC" when the zone is entered with a space character in the sysconfig menu:

    1. Go to the sysconfig menu:
      [Expert@HostName]# sysconfig
    2. Select (4) Time and Date
    3. Select (1) Set time zone
    4. Select (11) I want to specify the time zone
    5. Enter the timezone with a space, e.g., "GMT +2" (instead of "GMT+2")
    6. The timezone is defaulted to "UTC"
