Symptoms
  • "Invalid format for domain or email" error in Gaia Portal of SMB appliance when adding a Top-Level Domain in the Anti-Spam Block List in the format ".TLD" (e.g., .com).

    1. Go to Threat Prevention tab - in the Anti-Spam section, click on Exceptions page
    2. In the Block List section, click on the New button
    3. In the Sender / Domain field, enter a Top-Level Domain in the format ".TLD" (e.g., .com)
    4. Click on the Apply button
    5. Red icon with the exclamation sign is displayed
When hovering with the mouse cursor on that icon, the tooltip shows the "Invalid format for domain or email" error
      Example:
    6. The Top-Level Domain is added, but can not be edited (the Edit button stays grayed out)
  • The same configuration can be performed in Gaia Clish without any error:
    add antispam blocked-sender sender-or-domain .com
    show antispam blocked-senders

  • Adding just the Top-Level Domain in the format "TLD" (e.g., just com) can be performed in Gaia Portal without any error.
