Hardware Sensors reading are incomplete on 5000, 15000 and 23000 appliances until the Gaia First Time Configuration Wizard is run
Symptoms
  • Output of Clish command "show sysenv all" on 15000 and 23000 appliances shows "Power Supply #1" and "Power Supply #2" as "Not Sampled" in the "Value" column.

    Example:
  • Output of Clish command "cpstat os -f sensors" on 5000, 15000 and 23000 appliances does not show any values in the "Value" and "Unit" columns.

    Example:
  • Output of command "cpstat os -f power_supply" on 5000, 15000 and 23000 appliances shows an empty "Power Supply" table.

Cause

By design, in Gaia OS on 5000, 15000 and 23000 appliances, the Hardware Sensors are activated only after completing the Gaia First Time Configuration Wizard.


Solution

Complete the Gaia First Time Configuration Wizard as described in the Quick Start Guide for your appliance (500015000, 23000):

  1. Launch the Web browser and enter https://192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
  2. Log in with the default system administrator login name/password - admin / admin, and click Log In.
    Note: Popups must always be allowed.
  3. The First Time Configuration Wizard will begin automatically.
    The wizard will guide you through the setup process.
  4. Fill in the parameters as required and click Finish.

 

Example outputs after completing the Gaia First Time Configuration Wizard:

  • Output of command "show sysenv all" shows "Power Supply #1" and "Power Supply #2" as "Up" in the "Value" column:

  • Output of Clish command "cpstat os -f sensors" shows the expected values in the "Value" and "Unit" columns:

  • Output of command "cpstat os -f power_supply" shows a populated table:
