"Global object modification is prohibited!" error in SmartDashboard connected to a Domain Management Server during policy installation
Symptoms
  • The following error is displayed in SmartDashboard connected to a Domain Management Server during policy installation:

    Global object modification is prohibited!
    Object $POLICY_PACKAGE_NAME cannot be updated as requested

    Unable to save configuration database. If this problem persists, please contact technical support.
  • Debug of FWM daemon on the Domain Management Server (per sk33207) during the installation of policy "NameOfPolicy" shows:

Cause

Due to some corruption, duplicate entries and/or objects are now configured in the Global Policy in the "Source" column and/or "Destination" column, which makes saving any changes in Domain's policy impossible.
