Some eBGP routes are advertised with the source IP address of BGP peer as the next-hop, instead of the next-hop configured in routemap
Symptoms
  • Output of Clish command show bgp peer IP_ADDRESS advertise shows that some eBGP routes are advertised with the source IP address of BGP peer as the next-hop (original nexthop that was learned from the BGP route), instead of the nexthop that was configured in the routemap.

Cause

The routemap nexthop might sometimes be overwritten by the original BGP nexthop learned from the BGP route.
