Symptoms

Authentication on Gaia OS from console with local user fails (times out) while two RADIUS servers are configured.
When only one RADIUS server (any one of the two) is configured, authentication on Gaia OS from console with local user succeeds, but after a long time.

Cause

RADIUS authentication has priority over local authentication. Gaia OS is not able to connect to any of the configured RADIUS servers (e.g., when the relevant interface is down). As a result, local authentication times out.
