RouteD daemon might crash when receiving BGP "Update" message
Symptoms
  • After running "clusterXL_admin down" command on the Active ClusterXL member, the RouteD daemon on the new Active member crashes several times before it starts to work.

  • /var/log/messages file on the new Active member shows:

    routed[PID]: Assertion failed routed[PID]: file "aspath/aspath_hash.c", line N: "nb <= as_path_hash_tbl.hdr.members"
    routed[PID]: Assertion failed routed[PID]: file "aspath/aspath_hash.c", line N: "nb <= as_path_hash_tbl.hdr.members"
    routed[PID]: Abort routed[PID] version routed-MM.DD.YYYY-HH:MM:SS: Invalid argument
    routed[PID]: Abort routed[PID] version routed-MM.DD.YYYY-HH:MM:SS: Invalid argument
    routed[PID]: Abort routed[PID] version routed-MM.DD.YYYY-HH:MM:SS: Invalid argument
    kernel: do_coredump: corename = |/etc/coredump/compress.sh /var/log/dump/usermode/routed.7691.core
    kernel: do_coredump: argv_arr[1] = /var/log/dump/usermode/routed.7691.core
    xpand[PID]: invalid binding <iterate aspath >, connection closed by routed
    
  • After enabling generation of core dump files per sk92764, core dump files for 'RouteD' process were generated in the /var/log/dump/usermode/ directory.

Cause

RouteD daemon crashed when receiving BGP "Update" message.
