Symptoms
  • Multiple "Bypassing DLP due to resource shortage" logs from DLP blade in SmartView Tracker.

  • Kernel debug ('fw ctl debug -m dlpk all') shows:

    • ;dlpk_drv_send_buffer: invalid qid. queue might be released(and slot reallocated); 
      ;dlpk_drv_send_buffer: no queue found for qid 40000; (can be any number, 0 is also ligit) 
      ;dlpk_cmi_send_data: dlpk_drv_send_buffer failed; 
      ;dlpk_cmi_handle_context: dlpk_cmi_send_data failed;
      
    • ;dlpk_drv_send_buffer: invalid qid. queue might be released(and slot reallocated);

Cause

Kernel send data to DLPU user space process via special queue ("qid"). Whenever DLPU process crashes, the existing queue ID is released, and each try to send the data to old "qid" fails.
