Interface LEDs for 40GbE line cards will illuminate during reboot if a cable link is established, even if the interface is down.
When running the Hardware Diagnostic Tool twice consecutively, it always fails on the 40GbE self test in the second test. If multiple tests are required, reboot the device between tests.

40GbE line cards do not support auto-negotiation (although it is available in the Gaia WebUI).
When running the Hardware Diagnostic Tool with a 40GbE line card without an external loopback cable, the output is not shown on the screen. Successful tests can be validated by viewing the hardware diagnostics log in /var/log/diagnostics after reboot.
