How to configure SmartProvisioning on 1100 appliance Technical Level
Solution

IMPORTANTFor centrally managed 1100 appliances, R77.30 Security Management server and R77.30 Add-On must be used.

Procedure

Step 1 - Create 1100 Site Gateway in SmartProvisioning / LSM GUI

  1. Go to File -> New -> Small Office Appliance Gateway

  2. Enter the gateway name (as allocated on site spreadsheet) and comments:



  3. Define Security Profile and SmartProvisioning / LSM Profile. Select R77.20 as version: 



  4. Enter the One-time password: 



  5. Click Finish:



  6. Click OK:



  7. Click OK:



  8. Click OK: 



  9. The SmartLSM Security Gateway properties should open automatically: 



  10. In the Topology tab, select the “All IP addresses behind the gateway based on Interfaces information” option, then click “configure…”: 



  11. Select "Use the following settings":



  12. In Switch section, click “Activate”.
    Assign the IP address and Subnet Mask as per site spreadsheet. Assign all interfaces to switch and enable DHCP for remaining IP addresses in site range: 



  13. Click OK and confirm settings: 



  14. Click OK to submit configuration and click OK to continue: 



  15. Click OK to acknowledge firmware warning 



  16. Update Corporate Gateways 


Step 2 - Configure the 1100 Appliance

  1. Connect to 1100 appliance using https://192.168.1.1:4434 and click Next:

     

  2. Configure Password and Country. Click Next:



  3. Click Next (NTP is configured automatically from the Device Configuration Profile): 



  4. Enter the Device name as defined in SmartProvisioning / LSM. Click Next (Domain Name is set automatically from the Device Configuration Profile): 



  5. Select the "Central Management" option and click Next: 



  6. Configure the ADSL settings and click "Connect". Once ADSL is successfully connected, click Next: 



  7. Click Next (Interface settings will be pushed to device from SmartProvisioning): 



  8. Select the "Configure wireless network later" option and click Next: 



  9. Clear the "Trusted Wireless" checkbox and select "Internet". Click "New" to define trusted Internet addresses: 



  10. Add the trusted source IP address and click Apply: 



  11. Click "Activate license" (this assumes you have Internet connectivity through ADSL) and click Next: 



  12. Define the One-Time Password (SIC) as it's configured in SmartProvisioning / LSM. Click Next: 



  13. Define the Security Management Server IP address and select the "Always use the above IP address to connect to the Security Management Server and" checkbox.  Select where to send logs, then click Connect: 



  14. Trust will be established but the device may fail to fetch policy. Click Next.
  15. Click Finish:

     


Step 3 - SmartProvisioning GUI

  1. On newly created gateway right click - > Actions -> Push Settings and Actions.
    This will push interface and other settings to device. It will also kick off the download and installation of the latest firmware. Note the Last Known IP address of the device if using a non-static IPADSL service. The upgrade will take about 10-20 minutes but is dependent on ADSL line speed.

  2. Once upgraded, wait until the Last Known IP address changes from the one noted in the previous step if using a non-static ADSL service (this can take several minutes).
    If you do not wait any further actions will try to be applied to a device at the previous IP address.
