"veconfig" command shows only some of the configured clusters / shows Virtual Machines only from some of the configured clusters
Symptoms
  • The "veconfig" command on Security Management Server / Domain Management Server shows only from some of the configured clusters.

    Example:

    1. Run "veconfig" command
    2. In the list "Choose cluster to deploy the Service on:", only some of the configured clusters are displayed
  • The "veconfig" command on Security Management Server / Domain Management Server shows Virtual Machines only from some of the configured clusters.

    Example:

    1. Run "veconfig" command
    2. Select "3. Update Service"
    3. Choose a service
    4. Choose operation "2. VM Override"
    5. In the list "Choose VM to override its policy:", Virtual Machines are displayed only from some of the configured clusters (or no Virtual Machines at all)
  • $FWDIR/log/veconfig.elg file on Security Management Server / Domain Management Server might contain the following error messages:

    • WARN [Thread-6] (Validator.java:37) - validateProperties failed because "p_properties.get(ClusterComputeResource)" is null
    • Can't connect to vCenter. failed to get clusters and port groups from vCenter.
      java.rmi.RemoteException: can't connect to vCenter due to connection problem
