In-place upgrade to Windows 10 Version 1511 from earlier version of Windows with installed Check Point Full Disk Encryption Technical Level

Please use sk112246 if you are upgrading to Windows 10 1607 (Anniversary Edition) or newer.

When performing an upgrade to Windows 10 from earlier versions of Windows, additional steps are required if Check Point Full Disk Encryption (FDE) is installed. This is required because Windows needs to have the FDE disk encryption filter driver during the whole upgrade process.

How to upgrade

  1. Copy the Windows 10 installation media to a folder or USB memory stick.
  2. Download this script and put the files UpgradeFDE.cmd and patch.reg in the root directory of the Windows 10 installation folder you copied from step 1.
  3. Run UpgradeFDE.cmd to start the upgrade.
  4. The script can be modified to fit your upgrade path. The variables in the script are documented.

Any error messages will be printed on the screen.

In case of error, collect all output from the script and contact Check Point Support.
