Values of some kernel parameters configured in $FWDIR/boot/modules/fwkern.conf file are not applied
Symptoms
  • Values of some kernel parameters configured in $FWDIR/boot/modules/fwkern.conf file are not applied.

  • Values of some kernel parameters configured in $FWDIR/boot/modules/vpnkern.conf file are not applied.

  • CoreXL Dynamic Dispatcher kernel parameters (sk105261) configured in $FWDIR/conf/dispatcher_mode.conf file are not applied.

  • Firewall Priority Queues kernel parameters (sk105762) configured in $FWDIR/conf/dispatcher_mode.conf file are not applied.

Cause

Some line is commented out (starts with hash sign "#") in the $FWDIR/boot/modules/fwkern.conf file / $FWDIR/boot/modules/vpnkern.conf file / $FWDIR/conf/dispatcher_mode.conf file.

Lines that start with the hash sign and all lines after such lines are ignored.

In the following example, values of parameter3, parameter4 and parameter5 will be ignored:

parameter1=value1
parameter2=value2
#parameter3=value3
parameter4=value4
parameter5=value5

Solution

Do not use hash sign to disable kernel parameters.

Create a copy of the current file and delete the unused kernel parameters from the current file.
