Edge devices might lose connection to Service Center after upgrade of Security Management Server on Windows OS to R77.30
Symptoms
  • Edge devices might not be able to connect to Service Center after upgrade of Security Management Server on Windows OS to R77.30 Take 204.

  • Issue might occur for all managed Edge devices (managed via SmartDashboard and via SmartProvisioning).

Solution

Customers that have upgraded their Security Management Server on Windows OS to R77.30 Take 204, have the following two options:

  • Option 1 (recommended)

    1. Uninstall the R77.30 Add-on, if it is installed
      (refer to R77.30 Release Notes - chapter "Installation and Upgrade" - section "Uninstalling R77.30 Add-on").
    2. Uninstall the current R77.30 Take 204
      (refer to R77.30 Release Notes - chapter "Installation and Upgrade" - section "Uninstalling R77.30).
    3. Upgrade to R77.30, Take 207.
    4. Install the R77.30 Add-on, if needed.

    Alternatively, perform clean install of R77.30, Take 207.

  • Option 2

    Contact Check Point Support to get a Hotfix for this issue.
    A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.
    For faster resolution and verification, please collect CPinfo file from the Security Management Server involved in the case.

 

Note: To verify if you are running R77.30 Take 204, run the following command in Windows Command Prompt:

cpvinfo %FWDIR%\lib\provision_vpn1_edge_conf.dll | findstr /C:"Build Number" /C:"Minor Release"

If you get the following output, then you are running R77.30 Take 204:

Build Number=990000012
Minor Release=gulli
