Symptoms
Cause
Check Point Performance Sizing Utility adds these messages on purpose:
- into the /etc/motd file; if this is not possible, then
- into the ~/.bashrc file and into the ~/.cshrc file
Solution
Follow these steps:
- Connect to the command line on the involved machine.
- Log in to Expert mode.
-
Check if cpsizeme script is still running:
[Expert@HostName]# ps auxw | grep cpsizeme
-
If the cpsizeme script is not running anymore (the message during login should have been "Check Point Performance Sizing Utility v<N> is done
"), then:
-
Check the /etc/motd file:
[Expert@HostName]# cat /etc/motd
If this message comes from this file, then edit the file in Vi editor and remove the line with the message about cpsizeme
-
Check the ~/.bashrc file:
[Expert@HostName]# cat ~/.bashrc
If this message comes from this file, then edit the file in Vi editor and remove the line with the message about cpsizeme
-
Check the ~/.cshrc file:
[Expert@HostName]# cat ~/.cshrc
If this message comes from this file, then edit the file in Vi editor and remove the line with the message about cpsizeme
- Connect to the command line on the involved machine in another shell.
