Random flapping of OSPF neighbors in Gaia OS cluster under load
Symptoms
  • Random flapping of OSPF neighbors.

  • /var/log/messages file shows repeatedly during the issue:

routed[PID]: OSPF IO: Init bit set in Loading/Full for neighbor X.X.X.X(name_of_interface)
  • /var/log/routed.log file (during traces) shows repeatedly during the issue:

    • peer_remove(...): Entering !!!!
    • cpcl_vrf_recv_from_instance_manager(...): Deleting CPCL_IM_Peer_Task !!!!
  • RouteD traces show that sometimes OSPF has momentary lags / delays.

    Examples:

    • Oct 2 11:03:29 task_timer_dispatch: calling OSPF2_default_Ack, late by 14.267
      ...
      Oct 2 11:04:24 task_timer_dispatch: calling OSPF2_default_SPF, late by 10.097
      ...
      Oct 2 11:04:34 task_timer_dispatch: calling OSPF2_default_AreaLSAAge, late by 8.578
      ...
      Oct 2 11:04:50 task_timer_dispatch: calling OSPF2_default_AreaLSAAge, late by 14.608
      ...
      Oct 2 11:05:06 task_timer_dispatch: calling OSPF2_default_InstanceLSAAge, late by 16.526
