New events are not created in SmartEvent GUI, and "ERROR: duplicate key value violates unique constraint "seam_event_XXX_pkey"" in $RTDIR/log/cpsemd.elg
Symptoms
  • New events are not created.

  • $RTDIR/log/cpsemd.elg file shows:

    ... ... ...

    Examples:

    • ERROR:  duplicate key value violates unique constraint "seam_event_13_pkey"
    • ERROR:  duplicate key value violates unique constraint "seam_event_57_pkey"
    • ERROR:  duplicate key value violates unique constraint "seam_event_653_pkey"
  • After enabling generation of core dump files per sk92764 / sk53363, core dump files for 'CPSEMD' process might be generated in the /var/log/dump/usermode/ directory.

Cause

The Correlation Unit produces the same UUIDs for different events.
