  • Fetching policy on a DAIP gateway fails with:
    External interface is not properly defined. Please run cpconfig to define it.
    Segmentation fault (core dumped)
    
  • Fetching policy on a DAIP gateway under debug ('fw -d fetch IP_of_MGMT') shows:
    ExternalIF: >>NAME_of_INTERFACE<<
    cpii_get_interface_ip_and_netmask: Getting IP address and netmask for 'NAME_of_INTERFACE'
    cpii_get_interface_list_common: called with vrf 0, buffer (nil), buflen 0, skip_slaves 0, do_ipv6 0
    cpii_get_interface_list_ex_ex: called with vrf 0, buffer (nil), buflen 0, skip_slaves 0, do_ipv6 0
    cpii_get_interface_list_ex_ex: buffer given too small. Need XXX bytes
    cpii_get_interface_list_common: converted buffer_ex_len (XXX bytes) to buflen (YYY bytes)
    cpii_get_interface_list_common: done. returning -3
    
  • After enabling generation of core dump files per sk92764 / sk53363, core dump files for 'fw_full' process were generated in the /var/log/dump/usermode/ directory during policy fetching.

Cause

FWD daemon crashes on DAIP gateway.
