cp_merge fails to merge cluster and members
Symptoms
  • When merging the $FWDIR/conf/objects_5_0.C files from one Security Management server to another, the cp_merge utility fails with errors:
    The following objects will not be imported
    <cluster name>
    <member 1 name>
    <member 2 name>
    ...
    Do you want to see an expanded report y/n [y] ? y

    The following objects will not be imported because one of their attributes'
    values is not valid. Use Check Point Database Tool to correct the objects on
    the source Management Server:

    cluster : Validation error in field 'Number of cluster members' of element #1 at object 'clust' @ 'Network Objects' -->
    The referenced object 'mem1' from table 'network_objects' does not exist in the database
    member1 : Validation error in field 'Cluster Object' at object 'mem1' @ 'Network Objects' -->
    The referenced object 'clust' from table 'network_objects' does not exist in the database
    member2 : Validation error in field 'Cluster Object' at object 'mem2' @ 'Network Objects' -->
    The referenced object 'clust' from table 'network_objects' does not exist in the database
