Symptoms
  • Full Disk Encryption Blade on Endpoint client is stuck in state "waiting for policy".

  • dlog1 / dlog2 log files (collected with CPinfo per sk90445) show the following errors:

    YYYYMMDD HHMMSS,N+GMT_OFFSET	E	FDE_srv.exe:10ac	Failed to parse XML, code: 11 
    YYYYMMDD HHMMSS,N+GMT_OFFSET	E	FDE_srv.exe:10ac	XML error: missing elements in content model '((Disabled,EnforceExpire,Expire,AllowHibernationLogon,EnforceFailedLogonMax,FailedLogonMax,EnforceLimitedLogonMax,LimitedLogonMax,EnforceTempLogonMax,TempLogonMax,EnforceTempLockTime,TempLockTime,AllowChangeCredentials,AllowSSO,AllowUninstall,ReceiveRPC,ReceiveOTL,ResponseMode,PasswordSyncFDE,PasswordSyncOS,AllowOSPasswordReset),)' 
    
Cause

Issue might occur in the following scenario:

  • Current Endpoint client (e.g., E80.51) is uninstalled and it decrypts the harddisks
  • Newer Endpoint client (e.g., E80.60) is installed and it encrypts the harddisks
