Symptoms
ClusterXL in High Availability Legacy Mode was upgraded from SecurePlatform OS to Gaia OS.
After the upgrade, the Standby member reports itself as 'Down
'.
Output of 'cphaprob list
' command on the Standby member shows that Critical Device 'Interface Active check
' reports its status as problem.
There is no 'Legacy
' option in SmartDashboard - ClusterXL object - 'ClusterXL and VRRP
' pane - in 'High Availability
' field, (only 'ClusterXL
' or 'VRRP
'):
After changing the 'OS
' from 'Gaia
' to 'SecurePlatform
' in SmartDashboard - ClusterXL object - 'General Properties
' pane, the 'ClusterXL and VRRP
' pane changes to 'ClusterXL
' and 'Legacy
' option becomes available in 'High Availability
' section:
Cause
ClusterXL in High Availability Legacy Mode is not supported on Gaia OS.
The Legacy Mode Mode configuration was inherited from the previous version and OS and survived the upgrade.
Solution
No fix is required; the system is functioning as designed.
ClusterXL administrator must change the configuration to High Availability New Mode - refer to ClusterXL Administration Guide (R75.40, R75.40VS, R76, R77) - Appendix A 'High Availability Legacy Mode':
- Moving from High Availability Legacy with Minimal Effort
- Moving from High Availability Legacy with Minimal Downtime
