'monitord' and 'confd' processes consume 100% CPU Technical Level
  • Output of 'top' command shows that monitord and confd processes consume CPU at 100%.

  • "monitord[]: time shift detected !!!" appears repeatedly in /var/log/messages file.

Issue occurs while there is a relatively big monitor database and medium-high CPU load, which leads to a wrongly calculated check for time shift.

When there is a time shift, the OS performs a very costly update of the whole database, which causes a high CPU utilization by monitord process.
